Snapchat to let parents decide whether their teens can use the app's AI chatbot

Snapchat will now allow parents to block their teenagers from using the app’s ‘My AI’ chatbot following concerns about its safety for young users. If parents disable the feature, teens can still send messages to My AI, but the chatbot will respond with a notification stating that it has been disabled. This change is part of an update to Snapchat’s parental oversight tool Family Center. The platform also offers parents visibility into their teens’ safety and privacy settings, including their contact list, shared posts, and location on the ‘Snap Map’ feature. These updates come amid ongoing concerns about the safety of young users on social media platforms.
